USEFUL INFORMATION
Our hot summer months also bring our seasonal and sporadic rains from September to April with daily temperatures reaching 30°C maximum and 15°C minimum at night. This is a time for sunscreen and swimming costumes.
Dry, cooler months are May through to August with daily mean temperatures around 22°C, going down to 5°C some nights. Warm layers are needed for game viewing. Gloves and a beanie should be considered. Cosy lodge fires await our return.

Welgevonden is a malaria-free area.
Taking home photographic memories is a part of many safari visitors' plans. Ensure you have plenty of storage capacity. A telephoto lens helps to bring wildlife closer. Typically we do not use flash photography on the animals so this is not a serious consideration. Binoculars and birds/mammals guides are available at the lodge.

The lodge's power supply is exclusively solar, allowing us to minimize our carbon footprint on the environment we live in.
Water at the lodge is pumped from a nearby borehole and naturally filtered. Electricity is from 220V. Adapters are onsite.
